Art & the Artist
A.N (Nichole) Myles, LPC-A, MA, CIBHP is the artist and creator behind Nicki Scribbles, where whimsical watercolor art meets mental wellness. My work is inspired by the belief that creativity can be a powerful tool for emotional expression and healing. In addition to an array of paintings primarily featuring object art, animals, and people, I’m the author and illustrator of the picture book Nicki Scribbles, designed to help children express their own emotions through art, and Radically Well Affirmations, a deck of 54 trauma-informed affirmations cards designed to inspire and empower while avoiding the toxic positivity too often found in affirmation statements. I've also written a guidebook for my Common Creativity program - an expressive arts in mental health curriculum that removes layers of artistic "proficiency" requirements so that anyone can access their own inner creative and healing message without "I can't [draw, compose, paint, dance]" getting in the way.
At Nicki Scribbles, I offer colorful artwork, commissions, and creative products, and programs that blend art, creativity, and mindfulness. I produce high-quality, giclee’ art prints and other gifts that are affordable, accessible, and stand up to everyday life because art should be in the places we live. My work bridges the gap between artistic expression and mental health, navigating emotions, celebrating joy and whimsy, and embracing growth and the possibility of transformation.
